Unabridged Audiobook
Incredibly thorough and insightful view into the inner-workings of the British SAS, from origin through multiple campaigns across North Africa and Europe in WWII. Macintyre does a remarkable job detailing the exploits, and personalities, of the Soldiers and Officers that forged the SAS. This book really pulls together the demand for, and evolution of, the British Special Air Services. Truly one of the most interesting books I have ever read cover to cover. Highly recommend for any military history buffs, or anyone just looking for a great story.
What an incredible story of daring missions, people who risked it all for strategic opportunities to get behind enemy lines and make thir mark on the war. You can't but feel for the characters, what they lived and saw day to day . Can't recommend this book enough!
Well done in all areas.
Fantastically written and read.
Very interesting - lots of facts I was totally unaware of. This book is an 'Absolute Must' for all history enthusiasts.
Very interesting. Didn't want to stop listening and didn't want it to end.
