Unabridged Audiobook
One of John Grisham’s very best novels. It held my interest throughout the entire book. Couldn’t put it down. The narration was awesome.
One of Grisham's top 3. Loved it.
Liked it very much. It seems that it could be a real story. Always like his books. I liked the narration .
This is the worst but he has ever written no suspense drug on forever not good
I wasn't a fan of the narration at first; however, after a while the narrator grew on me. The book itself was very interesting: though a work of fiction, it seemed quite plausible. It was a good story.
I thought the narration was lacking.
I? could not stop listening Grisham exposes the trap of unethical law schools for profit. Beware. Just as importantly, we learn of gut wrenching plight of immigrant families.
Disappointed in the glorification of dishonesty, although it sort of reflects our president. Turned it off twice because it offended me. Think I am getting a little thin skinned due to our political environment . Felt the author wanted to glorify dishonesty. I expected more from the Author.
Book started off exciting then went downhill very quickly. I expected much more out of a John Grisham novel. Terribly disappointed. Not worth the time. The narrator was great though.
The narrator seemed as bored by the plot as I was.
I’m shocked so many people rated this book as good. The charectors and actions they took was so absurd I caught myself laughing out loud. I had to laugh again that I wasted money on this download.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. You hated loving this unlicensed law firm. A great story, that delves into the frustration of student loans, and subpar colleges. As in all your books, you can't really figure out the ending until the last page. One of your best.
It seemed that this books intent was to depress even the most avid Grisham fan. The story went off on a rant about everything that has been hashed about in the news. It has a definite liberal slant. I was very disappointed because I have been a Grisham fan for years. The narrator was very droll. I struggled to get through the book. Don’t waste your money on this book.
Like other reviewers..not Grisham's best work. But, very easy to listen to. Make travel time pass buy. Limited characters so easy to follow. The whole "Law school/loans was interesting. Glad I listened...glad I didn't waste time reading!
The story was so over the place. I'm a huge Grisham fan but this really messed the mark. The narrator was terrible! The "voices" he uses are ridiculous.
I enjoyed it. The plot was very relevant to today. There was a lot to keep me interested so I I finished it in two days!
I think is was a great story line. It does keep you interested the whole time. Very creative and I just loved it!
Very entertaining. I enjoyed the story line.
This story is very believable relative to the huge amount of debt some students end up with for college loans and the less than stellar schools many of them pay big bucks to attend. It was narrated very well and held my attention. Listened on a road trip and it made the hours fly by.
Great story as always from Grisham... seemed to rely on the narrator more than character dialog but that may have just been my impression.
Loved listening to the story. Classic Grisham
One of my favorite John Grisholm novels! If he were to write a sequel I’d be first in line to buy it! Narrator brought the story to life - great job!
Ugh, so disappointing. Aside from the terrible subject of glorifying thanking advantage of underprivileged people, the massive plot holes and under developed characters made this book almost painful to read. I kept holding out hope that in the end it would come together but it didn’t.
awesome!!!
This makes me so sad to say, but The Rooster is my least favorite book of John Grisham’s . In fact, I had a hard time believing he wrote this novel. As usual, it started off capturing my attention within the first few pages, but probably mid way, it took a turn and went so far off course that I was skimming parts of the book looking for it to pick back up. I was dumbfounded with its unrealistic plot.
I loved this book. Student debt is definitely a topic I can relate to. I was captivated by the schemes and the relationships of the main characters.
Enjoyed the book, but thought is dragged in parts. It was a wild ride.
the book was good. author has written better. The narrator kept reading like he was late for an appointment somewhere else. If you would have slowed down a little the book would have gotten higher marks
Great story and great narration. I enjoyed a lot
Boring book. Narrator did a great job reading such a boring book!
One of Grisham's worst novels I've ever read. I forced myself to finish it just on principle. It dragged on & on. I was bored. SO unlike other Grisham novels that held my interest from the first page forward. Blech.
I binge listened this one. Excellent book, great narration! Highly recommend.
I have enjoyed all of John Grisham’s books. This was a very plausible story. The good narration made for easy listening.
Great Grisham. His books can be formulaic and a little tedious. I rooted hard for the main characters as they David the big bad Goliath. We all want a little revenge for the magic beans we’ve been sold. This book delivers.
this is simply the best John G I have ever read. I could not sleep. This novel had my heart racing to the very end. I actually was applauding at the end of the book. I don't think I can ever muster the courage and balls to do what those guys did. But what the heck. they fought back against a crooked system and won. It's not if you win or lose but how you play the game. Life is a big bloody game and they will be winners and losers. some will forever remain on the sidelines picking up the crumbs
Fun look at the law and the cost of education
It wasn’t my favorite Grisham book, but it was still a good read. It definitely makes you think about the student debt problem in our country.
Narrator was good - storyline was interesting but lacked something - still enjoyed very much and would reccomend
This was a quick “read”. Certainly not one of Grisham’s best! The narrator was good.
Not one of my favorites!!
I always love John Grisham’s style and enjoyed Rooster Bar. But as he somewhat implied in his statement, this one lacked legal accuracy and I thought it stretched credulity of the characters. Still though, it was a good read.
