Summary
Born a commoner, Hannah Reid has been Duchess of Dunbarton since she was nineteen years old. Now her husband is dead and, more beautiful than ever at thirty, Hannah has her freedom at last. To the shock of a conventional friend, she announces her intention to take a lover—and not just any lover, but the most dangerous and delicious man in all of upper-class England: Constantine Huxtable. Constantine's illegitimacy has denied him the title of earl, so now he denies himself nothing. Rumored to be living the easy life of a sensualist on his country estate, he always chooses recent widows for his short-lived affairs. Hannah will fit the bill nicely. But once these two passionate and scandalous figures find each other, they discover that it isn't so easy to extricate oneself from the fires of desire—without getting singed.

I was disappointed because of the voiceover being to much...I prefer more of the characters interactions rather than so much of their thoughts & feelings.

I've read a lot of her books , and this ranks right up there with the best of them! Keeps you engaged and anxious to see what happens next! Loved it!

Very misleading. The review reads like Stephen's story....man turns mistress to wife yet the plot twists were obvious. The reader finally finds out Con's secret about money, stolen jewels, and John. I figured it out reading the first book so it was disappointing. The Duchess' story was obvious too. The three sisters were judgemental and mean so the last book shows them changing to be just like the Ton until halfway thru the book. I really thought Con should have handled them differently but took the sugary sweet unrealistic high road. I think the main problem with this book was that there was too much trying to justify making the bad choices that were made into making them good choices.
