The #1 New York Times bestselling author of the electrifying Mitch Rapp series “knows how deliver action in his novels” (St. Paul Pioneer Press) and does so again with this thrilling follow-up to The Third Option.

The confirmation of Dr. Irene Kennedy as the CIA’s new director explodes into chaos as a deadly inside plot to destroy her and prematurely end the president’s term emerges. Meanwhile, a dangerous world leader gains power in the nuclear arms race, leading Israel to force the president’s hand with a chilling ultimatum. With the specter of World War III looming, the president calls on top counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp, but with only two weeks to take out the nukes, Rapp is up against a ticking clock—and impossible odds.

Good story, but unfortunately the narration did not work for me at all. I learned just how much difference a narration can make.

Love all the Mitch Rapp books and the narrator for the rest of the series (George Guidall) is awesome... this one however sounds like someone trying to audition for Shakespeare theater. Did not fit the book AT ALL. Please, PLEASE, never use him again for a Mitch Rapp novel.

I loved the story and the suspense but the narrator wasn't right for this genre. I think the best narrator is George Guidall.

Slow start but built and built till I couldn’t switch it off

Narrator was terrible. Editor should have cut the redundant explanations of characters. Fact checker needed for medical information. Giving someone 2 LITERS of fluid without an active external bleed would fluid over load the body and they would be dead in minutes. NOT going to miss much if you pass on this one.

Another great political thriller! Well fone!

I have been listening to the books in chronological order beginning with American Assassin. I love the books and usually hurry into the next title. This narrator is terrible. He completely ruins the Mitch Rapp character. His reading of the character is nothing like the character we have come to know. I am pleased to see that they never used him for another Rapp book. If by some chance this is the only Rapp book you have listened to, please give one of the others a try.

Good story, it stumbles on weapons nomenclature, narration, and level of impossibility.

The dialogue and relationships are so juvenile that it detracts from the story line. And the tones of voice and grating sound of this narrator makes a still decent Rapp novel annoying. Had to stop listening and read the rest.

fantastic story but the narrator was awful.

Great story, great action, a wonderful application to the Rapp story. The only drawback was, I feel the narrator did not fit this series. I had a hard time bringing myself into the story as he read. But over all a great book.

I have stopped listening to titles because of this narrator before. For years he has been giving strong characters whining voices, like they are total losers. I can't for the life of me understand why he still works in the industry. Only the excellent author saves this book.

  • Darrick J

It was a good listen and story

  • Ben K

The story is really good but the narrator all but ruins it.

  • Gerry P

Worst narrator ever. Almost didn’t finish book because if it.

  • Georgina W

HORRIBLE Narrator. I wish I'd paid attention to the reviews.

  • David W

Excellent , never put the book down. I want to read the entire series !

  • Philo N

    Good book

  • Bryan Eto

    Great book...narration not so much!

  • Joe Aliano

I really like the book, but was not a fan of the narrator. Mitch Rapp is awesome, the story did not disappoint.

  • Mary Grieshaberwilliams

Love it! My husband and I love listening to Vince Flynn audiobooks. We like the other narrator better but this one was good

  • Joseph Cummings

Probably the worst narration ever. Good book otherwise

  • Michael West

I love everything Vince Flynn does, narration is awesome as well

Be sure to listen to these in order. Don't get (or let) the audiobooks arrive out of order. That would really spoil it for you. If you like political intrigue and action this is great stuff.

My first Flynn, and it will not be my last! Really good stuff. Rapp makes for a great hero and has everything you need to make a great series. Look forward to reading more. Good narrator too!

  • Harley

I absolutely loved it, but perhaps I love all of the Vince Flynn books about Mitch Rapp. The story kept my attention and I did care about the characters.

  • Hal Tenney

Vince Flynn is a great author and Mitch Rapp is a true hero. The only problem I had is that I have decided I do not like abridged versions of any book I listen to. Too much is left out. Bring on more Mitch Rapp!

  • Lee Werley

Great read. Highly recommend this one. Also check out his other books.

  • Jeff Wesenberg

Terrific book, well written and read. Kept me in suspense throughout. I highly recommend this to all club members

  • Molly

Story interesting and had a great twist, but difficult to follow with large cast.

  • Lee Werley

This was an okay book. Moved fast but was too much like many others. This was my first book by Vince Flynn but I may try another to see how I like it.

  • Joel

This is my first 5 star review. This was my first Vince Flynn book as well. This book had it all, intrigue, detail, politics and the "reader" was excellent. Makes me wish i got the unabridged version. Off to add more Vince Flynn to my bookshelf!
