Summary
Howard Phillips Lovecraft, better known as H.P. Lovecraft, was an American author of horror, fantasy, poetry and science fiction, especially the subgenre known as weird fiction and many feel he is the acknowledged master of creepy, weird and unsettling stories. These are seven stories by Lovecraft that literally span his career; some being written when he was barely a teenager and one (The Shunned House) only published after he had died. Each story is unique and strange in it's own way but all of them come from the same mind that gave us the Cult of Cthulhu and other wonderful tales that generations now have enjoyed for their strangeness that resonates with our own inner fears. Some of these stories explore the depths of the human mind others the depths of human degradation and creepiness. I won't ruin the suspense by telling you which is which. Enjoy. Note that each story has a source E-link to the text for that story. (Summary by phil chenevert)

The narrator doesn't read in a way that matches the content. sou is very lackadaisical and officious.

Despite listening to the stories more than once, I couldn’t get into them, I was totally missing the points of the stories.

Not for me ... I couldn’t get interested . I believe it was the narrator’s cadence that left me lacking interest.

Lovecraft is always hit or miss. This one is just kind of on the line with moments but nothing to carry the story.

After experiencing the immersive play “Father Dagon” (in which my son performed) I wanted to know more about H. P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) and read some of his work. He was an American writer of weird fiction known as “Lovecraftian Horror” which has inspired writers, games, music and other media. Lovecraft still has many fans today. One of the tales in this book is “Dagon” which is the start of his “Cthulhu Mythos”. These wordy tales are very atmospheric horror stories, relying on description rather than action. I enjoyed the words more than the stories and the narrator, Phil Chenevert, was mesmerising. There are no happy endings, This isn’t my type of book but it was an interesting experience.

The stories ade wonderful. The narrator had inappropriate pacing and inflection and cadance for the work unfortunately. It sounds to happy and ridiculous, no terror to be found :(

Well, I love Lovecraft's stories and this audiobook had almost everything I wanted. Unfortunetly the narrator was not that good. But even that can't interrupt me enjoying the story.

Well... i had real hard time listening to the narrator. Very nasal and flat. Had to turn it off.
