Unabridged Audiobook
This was a great "read". I love the author and this charcter, Becky Bloomwood, has been a favorite since Confessions of a Shopaholic! If you love funny, lighthearted stories, you'll love this one.
I am sending this book back after listening only to the first CD. I cannot get into this author. I found Kinsella's book "Remember Me" equallly uninteresting. Sophia Kinsella's books are just too slow at the beginning to hold my interest.
I enjoyed the first book in this series, but this book was just not very good. I started to really dislike the main character, and ultimately, I didn't even finish it...
I just love a Sophie Kinsella novel. Becky Brandon is one of my favorite heroines. I think we all have a little Becky in us, but when I listen to her I realize I am not a shopaholic! Great reading for pure entertainment and fun. I love this narrator and adore her interpretation of the characters. This series has been a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to Shopaholic and Baby when it becomes available. The only sad thing about a Sophie Kinsella novel is having them end.
Very entertaining and funny. I found myself laughing out load while driving.
This book was ok. The start was really slow and dull. It kind of got on my nerves that Becky is so obsessed with shopping. But it got better at the end. Will most likely listen to the next one.
Becky Bloomwood is too dumb for words, not-even a believable story. I found myself thinking pull the CD out and sent this one back.
This book was an easy listen. It made me laugh a few times. Other books by this author have kept my interest more. All in all it's a good, easy listen and it definitely helped with my boring commute.
I thought this was an easy listen, funny and entertaining book. I even laughed out loud a few times.
I like her books. It's kind of like stepping into the sunshine after you've listened to mysteries, danger, intense, etc. Loved The Domestic Goddess. For some reason, I keep thinking Bridget Jones.
OK book. Not her best. Slow to start, but gets a little better by the end. Can predict most of the events in the story. Some events needed to be fleshed out more.
I could not get into this and could not finish it.
The first Shopaholic book was difficult for me to finish, but the rest of the series seem like old friends... present book included.
The sequel to Confessions of a Shopaholic...not as good as the first and I was really glad it was abridged. I got pretty sick of the reader's voice by disk 2.
I have shopaholic tendencies and guess I recognize myself too much in Becky, the main character of the Shopaholic books. I really didn't enjoy this book since I found it extremely shallow and I grew tired of hearing about all of the shopping escapades. I definitely recognize there is more in life than shopping!
This book was just in line with Kinsella's other Shopaholic books. The narrator was "fab" and really seemed like the character but her deplication of some of the other characters made my nerve grate! If the author writes another Shopaholic book, I will consider passing on it. I think it was good while it lasted but I've had enough of this character.
Absolutely delightful. This was a simply little story filled with humor and warmth. Reader did a wonderful job.
I've enjoyed previous Shopaholic books, but this selection bordered on annoying. I think that Becky has some serious issues and the next book should be Shopaholic & Therapy.
This book started out slow, and Becky was really shopping to the point where I thought she really needed therapy or Dr. Phil, or medication for OCD. I began to wonder if Becky was mentally ill, or just plain not too bright. As well, Luke comes accross as a big jerk - although I have always found that. In the end though, the story becomes more realistic (well, realistic is not the right word,) and the characters become more tolerable. I think the trick with these books is to think of them as just like a soap opera - obviously out of touch with reality but also really entertaining. The book became enjoyable towards the end of the second CD. In fact, by the end, I found myself waiting in the car after I had arrived home to keep listening.
The whole Shopaholic series is great. I recommend you read/ listen to it in order. Entertaining and funny as always!
This was such a fun, relaxing, witty book! It definitely brought out my "girly" side! I highly recommend it for some entertaining & brainless reading!
I thought the book was BORING. What a spoiled woman with no sense of reality. I was only able to listen to 1.5 CD's then sent it back! Don't waste your time on this one.
I enjoyed this book despite the fact that the star of the book seemed to be so completely ignorant of how to handle everyday situations and mini crises. She just seemed so lacking in strength and personal integrity.I almost had to turn it off several times due to this, but maybe that was the point....that she had to learn these lessons. All in all I would recommend it.
LOVED THIS BOOK! This is the second Sophia Kinsella book I've listened...wish she had more available! Fun books!
Typical "shopaholic" story. Becky is still making the same mistakes as in the past three books (which is admittedly a little frustrating), but this is still an entertaining book to listen to! It seems there could be more shopaholic books to come, and I'll be ready to read/listen to them...
