Summary
From the New York Times bestselling author of Something Borrowed comes a novel that shows how someone with a ‘perfect life' can lose it all—and then find everything.

Darcy Rhone thought she had it all figured out: the more beautiful the girl, the more charmed her life. Never mind substance. Never mind playing by the rules. Never mind karma.

But Darcy's neat, perfect world turns upside down when her best friend, Rachel, the plain-Jane 'good girl,' steals her fiancé, while Darcy finds herself completely alone for the first time in her life…with a baby on the way.

Darcy tries to recover, fleeing to her childhood friend living in London and resorting to her tried-and-true methods for getting what she wants. But as she attempts to recreate her glamorous life on a new continent, Darcy finds that her rules no longer apply. It is only then that Darcy can begin her journey toward self-awareness, forgiveness, and motherhood.

Emily Giffin's Something Blue is a novel about one woman's surprising discoveries about the true meaning of friendship, love, and happily-ever-after. It's a novel for anyone who has ever, even secretly, wondered if the last thing you want is really the one thing you need.

This is a very lightweight story anyway, and so really would have benefited from a narrator who added SOME depth to the character with their approach. Sorry but I found the narration annoying and difficult to listen to.

I couldn’t imagine this plot. I love the characters. Darcy is such a complex personna. I love her changing character.

Great book, Darcy really changed, which was a good thing, I just wish it was longer than 4 cd's.

I thought this was a great book. it was a light, fun read.

I liked two of her other books, but this one drove me crazy, so I gave up. Too whiny - both the reader and the main character.

I usually like chick lits, but this one was just okay. Darcy was so shallow the first half of the book that I could barely keep listening and then at the end, she'd done such a 180 that she was overly apologetic about going into labor. I mean, who would apologize for such a thing? Especially Darcy, regardless of how much she'd changed. That part of the transformation seemed a bit overboard.

I really enjoyed this book, even more so than Something Borrowed. I agree that is starts off shallow, but that is part of the charm of the book...that people can change!

A pleasant read. A nice fantasy. The character is interesting but the story is hard to believe. It is an entertaining light read.

I almost stopped listening after the first CD......it was so shallow! but it became very enjoyable the rest of the way.

Somewhat predictable but also entertaining. It's a good one for the commute.

I received this book while I was actually reading "Something Borrowed", which was such a good book I decided to return "Something Blue" and buy the book so I could get the whole unabridged story. I really really loved these 2 books.

Good book, started out a bit rough, didn't think it was something I would like, but then I was hooked, people can change, and do with the right influences. And true love helps too.

In the beginning she was very shallow and learned about herself, love and friendship.

I had to stop & restart the first 2 CDs multiple times. If I had something else to listen to I would have. It got better when Darcy got to London - then it began to get more entertaining.

This book was ok, Darcy was very vain but ended up being a great person and friend. Might be a better book in the unabridged version.

If only the women in the story was a Christian, she could have saved herself a lot of heartache. The book is well written, and I loved the reader.

Very entertaining little book. Fans of Jessica Parker and gang, you'll enjoy this. Reads like a movie script. It would easily translatable to film.

I got about 10 minutes into this, and couldn't stop cringing. The orator of this novel, has the the most annoeying voice. I just couldn't get into it. The voice just made me cringe, and made me hate the main character.

I gave up on this book, but after going back and reading the reviews I found that most listeners had done the same thing, but said it turned out to be a good book. Boy, were those reviewers right. This book turned out to be very cute and enjoyable...you just have to get past the first disc and the obnoxious main character, who of course changes into a better, almost likeable person. So keep reading - it does get better.

The story was silly and although that would still be a nice diversion, the narrator was terrible, lowering her voice when speaking for the male characters. I found her voice grating and would not recommend this title.

This is a trite little book- if you are looking for something light, you may find this enjoyable, but I was hoping for a bit more substance.

At first listen, I was ready to ditch the disc. I am so please that I didn't. I really liked this story. I grew up with women like Darcy. Mindless, thoughtless egomanical people who consider money to be the be all end all and that the world does in fact revolve around them! How nice to see the evolution of one of "those" women evolve into a real person. One with feelings, concern, and a true understanding of what does and does not matter. Get passed the first few chapters and I promise you will not be sorry! Enjoy the listen!!

The story line was good, it was a light hearted book though a little cheesy at times. A good diversion from other more serious titles.

I found this to be a good story. The outstanding part was the narration. The speaker made me feel as if she was the girl in the book. I would recommend this book.
