Unabridged Audiobook
I truly enjoyed this book even though it's a hundred years old because the themes Gandhi covers are still relevant today, such as his outlook on different religions, racism in the United Kingdom and South Africa, comparing political structures and fairness between the UK and Dutch systems, and his focus on character, trustworthiness, and honor to helped him achieve his goals to change bad laws based on non-violent activism. I didnt know anything about his upbringing in India, education, professional career, or his family, which he describes in his book. The narrator speaks clear English with a Indian accent, which helps visualize the real Ghandhi speaking, rather than being spoken in an American accent. Nice to hear an actual speech by Gandhi at the end.
Simple language, short chapters, smooth flow and connected lines, this book carries enough for deep thinkers seeking meaning of life. You may not agree to all of Gandhi Gi's ideals, philosophy and strategy rather may get frustrated with him at times, but at the end you this feeble being lovable for his faith in his ideals. The narrator's pronunciation might at time sound not standard, but that's when one is broughtup perfecting English in former English Colony. His style has done justice to the story. It couldn't be better narrated by native English speaker.
