Unabridged Audiobook
Boring!!!! I normally like Debbie Macomber's books but geez this one was difficult to finish.
Simply book, nice twists and turns. Not exactly a 'page turner' but not bad.
I have enjoyed Debbie Macomber's series of books around the shop on Blossom Street and picked this story up knowing that these characters would eventually intertwine with the Blossom Street characters; however, I found I immensely disliked the female lead character as well as her daughter. I think it's because I couldn't relate to them in any sense of the word. They appeared to posses weak characters and made extremely poor decisions. The story itself is well-written with a bit of a twist at the end, but I really struggled to finish the story because I disliked the character so much. I actually enjoyed the best friend much more than the lead or her whiny daughter.
This starts out well, introducing several intertwining plot lines. However the second half becomes over sentimental and predictable, which was disappointing after such a promising start.
