Summary
It isn't the first time that identical twins Gillian and Melina Lloyd have switched identities. Melina, the more impetuous twin, proposes that her circumspect sister take her place as a media escort to NASA astronaut and national hero Colonel Christopher 'Chief' Heart. Although it's an enticing offer, Gillian declines for a very personal reason. Besides, she warns Melina, such a switch could have unexpected consequences.

Media-savvy Chief turns out to be an easy assignment for Melina. But the following morning, police arrive at Melina's door with the worst possible news: her beloved twin has been murdered, and on the walls, scrawled in blood, are obscenities directed at Gillian, along with insults that indisputably link Chief to the crime.

Dissatisfied with the official police investigation, Chief and Melina form a grudging alliance. Striking out on their own, they uncover more questions than answers, and are eventually led to the threshold of an inner sanctum, where a megalomaniac lies in wait for Gillian's replacement, her identical twin -- Melina.

A story that reveals the powerful, almost mystical bond between twins -- bond that compels a woman to go to impossible lengths to avenge her sister, The Switch defies every prediction.

Sandra write with an interesting approach to this story. A thriller all the way

I absolutely love Sandra Brown but this is my least favorite of her books so far. I don't know if it was because the narrator was a woman, but I didn't connect with Chief or any of the characters like I usually do. I didn't get the chemistry build up between Gillian and Chief.

I've tried. On the recommendation of a friend, I've listened to two of Brown's books, but that's all I can tolerate. Her characterizations are shallow and trite, her plots uninteresting and certainly unchallenging, and her oh-so-hot-and-steamy sex scenes, even fast-forwarding through the majority of them, nauseating. I went through my Barbara Cartland romance-novel-a-day phase when I was twelve. Maybe I would have found these fun then. Now I can't stomach them even while doing tasks taking up most of my attention, much less when they have my full consideration. The rest of the Brown novels in my queue are getting flushed, and I'm looking askance at the friend who recommended them. Yuk.

I really liked this book and this is the second time I listen to it.

This was not one of Sandra Brown's better efforts in my mind. I was able to figure out the twist very early in the story, so it left no surprises for me. In addition, in my opinion, it had far too much romance and description of love scenes. I think that the book should almost should be viewed as a romance rather than a mystery.

It was a good book, but I figured the ending long before it came up.

I really enjoyed this story. Sandra Brown is a great storyteller. I didn't see the twist until it was revealed. Was worth the listen.

In reading the synopsis I couldn't wait to get this one. When I finally listened to it, I found it to be anti-climatic at best. It was very disappointing. In my opinion, it tried too hard to be suspensful...a thriller. The story barely scratches the surface of the characters, the build-up to the situation at hand. If you prefer Cliff's notes, then maybe you'll like this one. For myself, I like when the author takes time to build well-rounded characters and situations. I haven't read the book, and maybe it's because this was the abridged version. If it came in an unabridged version I would give it another try...maybe it goes beyond just the surface.

Sandra Brown is one of my favorites. I love the way she can draw you into a character and hold your attention. And there's always a little surprise. Keep them coming!!!!!!!!!

Enjoyed the book, however, I figured the twist out too soon. I'm glad I read it, but it's not one of Brown's best.
