Unabridged Audiobook
This was a very thought provoking book with some great insights and enough humour to make it a really enjoyable book.
There were a few good notes, but overall, I was disappointed in this book. I found it laborious to try to finish most chapters, and came away with only bits and pieces of knowledge about dogs or my relationship with them. Way too much blabbing about "primates" and scientific studies about "bonobos," and really long descriptions of each of those studies, all just to get to some really simple final point like... "dogs don't really like being patted on the head. They like being stroked." Most stories were cute or humorous but irrelevant. She's a well-known behaviorist with lots of research and work with dogs, so I expected lots of content and instead got lots of fluff. I also found it annoying that she keeps calling humans "idiots" even though she recognized at one point that understanding dogs is not intuitive for humans.
Fantastic - definitely a recommended read for all dog lovers
Wonderful book, appropriate for all dog owners. Great information shared by someone who genuinely respects dogs. I loved it!
