Unabridged Audiobook
Muir's writings are as thoroughly enjoyable as always. He manages to craft a dazzling picture of Alaska's fjords and glaciers throughout the account. Narrator changes by chapter, while some are excellent, others do manage to take away from the works. For instance, two narrators appear to be using rather low-tech recording devices, to the point that every "s" sound is sharply accented through the speaker system.
great book by a great man
Reading/listening to this book is a bit like meditation. I never get tired if John Muir!
Awful narrator. I felt like I was listening to a robot. What a shame because I love Alaska, but his voice was driving me crazy.
Wonderfully vivid descriptive writing and a window into the culture of the day. Narrations are a sure-fire cure for insomnia.
great story
Very interesting from a man that visited this region in the late 1800’s.
