Unabridged Audiobook
What a great way to continue the Percy Jackson saga: throw a fabulously full-of-himself god into a puny teenaged human form and watch the fun - and danger - begin as he reluctantly learns what it takes to be a mortal hero. Apollo-turned-Lester is one of Riordan's funniest characters and he is perfectly teamed with a feisty new demi-god -- a young girl named Meg - who has quickly become one of my favorite Riordan characters. Her sidekick (other than the teenager-god) is a riot. I may never eat a peach again. Percy Jackson fans will be glad to know he's involved in Apollo's adventures as is Camp Half-Blood and a handful of other familiar characters. How does one follow Percy Jackson's all-out war with a powerful earth goddess to come up with an equally ominous villain? Pit mortal-weak Apollo against three of history's most infamous Roman emperors, returning to conquer the world -- again. In a way, because they really existed and really were horrifying sadists, I think the evil emperors are actually the scariest villains Riordan has introduced. In this first book we get to meet Nero -- and his terrifying colossal statue of himself. Great fun! Loved this audio version; the narrator is a fantastic performer.

Great book! My son listened to the whole book in one day!
absolutely loved this narrator
Did not rhyme songs
Great book! A tiny bit of a let down from Rick's last series but great middle grade mythology adventure. It did feel a tiny bit rushed and that the stakes were low but I'm hoping that the characters will have the chance to grow in the next book in the series. 10/10 for the narrator tho!
Loved it, great job Rick and Robbie
This hasn’t disappointed to continue the Percy Jackson adventures! To have a fallen god go through quest just like other demigods is a great way to feel the same pains, trials, and sacrifices the demigods had to endure! The narrator is fantastic!
My daughter got the whole family into this series. Can't wait for the new book coming out next month! Riordan's writing is perfectly engaging and sets up reason for critical thinking discussions and perspective taking. This book has inspired my kids to learn more about mythology and poetry.
Love the narrator and this book was such a good start to the series
