Unabridged Audiobook
I\'ve looked forward to this book for a long time. I can\'t express how disappointed I was at the narrator\'s first utterance. My stomach sank. I knew instantly I couldn\'t continue. I\'ve completed over 700 volumes and this person was the weakest performer I\'ve ever heard. \r\n\r\nI hope that in the future the producers will be more particular when they hire talent to perform these classics.
I was so looking forward to having this as an audiobook. I only listened to the sample. Needless to say, I’ll save my credit for something else. The narration is horrid. It sounds like a LibriVox recording. From the first, the narrator stumbles and repeats himself. So disappointing. I’m crossing my fingers that a decent version will be released in the near future.
Ulysses in a Canadian accent with all the place names mispronounced? No, not when Joyce so painstakingly and meticulously identified each and every site named in the book.
Although the narrator for Molly Bloom read well, having anyone but a sexythroated Irish woman read for Molly-especially the Penelope chapter-is an artistic travesty. SO disappointed !
