Summary
Filled with tension and continual surprises, Unnatural Exposure is a thrilling chapter in Virginia Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta's life--and a triumph for #1 New York Times best-selling author Patricia Cornwell. The body of an elderly woman is found dismembered in a Virginia landfill. Scarpetta initially believes the clues mirror that of a serial killer she's tracked before, but upon further investigation, she discovers puzzling pox-like erruptions on the woman's body that, perhaps, point in another direction. When the killer contacts her via e-mail, Scarpetta enlists the aid of her computer-savvy niece, Lucy, to help track this monster through cyberspace. Learning that the Virginia victim was exposed to a high-tech virus that might unleash an epidemic, Scarpetta realizes she's dealing with a sophisticated mind. Her investigation leads her from the government's biological defense facility in Utah, to Atlanta's Center for Disease Control--and eventually to quarrantine, when it is discovered that Scarpetta has been exposed to this fatal virus. Along the way, she's forced to deal with the unscrupulous ambitions of a slick FBI agent, Lucy's problems, and her own turbulent feelings for Agent Wesley Benton.

I read this series years ago, and am thoroughly enjoying listening to it again. Younger Scarpetta series is really good and gripping. Hoping more come to audiobook. Very good storyline. I like that the author doesn't waste a lot of time redescribing her characters, just a quick recap and on she goes. I recommend this series.

Average story. Didn’t have me overwhelmed by anticipation. I found the narrator irritating . That’s why I abandoned it about 40 minutes before the end.

Another great read from Patricia Cornwell. I really enjoy the Kay Scarpetta series. The narrator C.J. Critt is great! I wish she would have narrated all of the Kay Scarpetta series.

She has better books in the series but still a good read. Like the narrator.

One if my favorites! I love CJ Critt! I totally imagine her voice as Scarpetta’s!

Thought it was great.

The book was very technical and a little boring. None of the "usual" suspense found in Ms. Cornwell's books. I listened to the first disc and then skipped to the last disc so that I could find out "who done it".

Love the Kay Scarpetta series and all the characters. This one was just as good as the others I have listened to, can't wait to get another one!

I just do not like the story in addition to the poor reader. Cornwell also seems to have an air of arrogance that is distracting in several of her books.

Overall a very good book. I found it running on at times but still a good one

This was pretty typical Cornwell fare, and medical examiner Kay Scarpetta is up to her old tricks. Cornwell can always be relied on for a solid story and interesting plot twists and this book is no exception. Even if you have never listened to a Cornwell before, this is a good one.
