I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Although, the ending made no sense at all. A bit of a let down. The narration was really good. Still kinda let down by the ending though...

The story would be great if the characters were well developed. They were not. The story lacks depth. The main character, Ella, is hard to appreciate. I couldn't relate to her inability to connect with her husband.... or maybe the author didn't communicate well the reason for Ella's mental separation from her husband and her need to have an affair with another man. Not the best book by Tracy Chevalier.
