Summary
Monday, January 19, 2009 marked Edgar Allan Poe's 200th birthday. Though these tales need no introduction, the rationale for starting with volume two is threefold: many of the best-loved (and best) tales are included, the vast majority run from 15 to 30 minutes, and the other volumes can then be recorded without repetition, if there is interest in doing so. (Summary by M.L. Cohen)

Narrator was absolutely terrible. Monotonous and bland. Too distracting. If you're gonna volunteer for Librivox, at LEAST put some effort into your voice!!

Didn’t like narration done in modern speak.

Couldn’t listen to most of these stories as the narrators were soooo bad

As others have said, the narration is dire. I gave up listening after 5 minutes, as it was absolutely awful almost impossible to maintain interest due to the monotone and bland. Like listening to a dalek speaking clock .

Narrated by the corpse of the worlds most boring monotone white woman. She could turn Shakespeare into a dullard. On the plus side, she will be sure to an-nun-ci-ate e-v-e-ry syl-la-ble clear-ly. Ha....ha.....ha, ha....ha....ha (

The stories were tolerable for the most part but the narrator was boring and plain.

taking a piece of literary art and turning to garbage. And I am being kind. A wonderful read... but please find new narrator.... I think my 12 year old nephew would read better
