Unabridged Audiobook
Worth the Chance is book two in the Lake Spark Series. This one is a steamy enemies to lovers romance, single dad with some closed proximity. Spencer and April are great together they have perfect banter and the steam is steamy. Spencer is a famous Baseball star with a secret. April loathe Spencer and has always stayed away. One night a video is made that snowballs into a pr nightmare. April has to put her trust in her number 1 enemy. I loved this closed proximity enemies to lovers. You know a book is gonna be good when you feel the distaste between two characters I ate it up. Spencers family members are everything mom is the best and so is that sweet child. When the secret is out my heart broke and it slowly healed. This was a great read and I will be going back for 1 and continue with 3.
A temptation that thrives on humor and scores major points with the heart. Worth the Chance brings the flavor. With hints of spice and depth of emotion, Spencer and April are irresistible. Lyon pushes boundaries. Brenner and Clark turn heartwarming into swoonworthy fun.
Audiobook review: Narrated by TJ Clark and Louise Brenner 4 stars for story / 4.5 stars for narration Enemies to lovers Grumpy/grumpier Single dad Relationship of convenience Forced proximity Sports romance Spencer and April find themselves in a precarious situation when a his cloud gets hacked and video has the potential to be leaked. They are forced together for appearances and as a result, April finds out there’s a lot more about to the arrogant baseball player she loves to hate. My favorite part of this story is the snarky banter between the two and any scene that has Hadley in it. The narration aspect of this book was a lot of fun. As mentioned, there was a lot of banter between the MCs and it was real fun to experience it in audio. Louise Brenner did an amazing job bringing April characters to life. She also did a great job with the male and child voices. TJ Brenner was new to me and he also did a good job as Spencer. I do recommend speeding up the listening speed on this one to enhance the experience a bit.
I’m gonna be honest here, I didn’t enjoyed this audiobook so much. I found out the voices wasn’t fitting with both characters. But I really loved the story itself. I really like Evey Lyon's writing, the way she brings out the humor and sarcasm in her characters, just writing my review I'm smiling at all the banter I've read between April and Spencer. I loved the back-and-forth between them. The way they hate each other while trying to fight their attraction. It was steamy, funny, and I really loved their story. It's definitely a book to read because by the end of it, I felt really good. I recommend the book but not the audio.
