David Williams is a retired professor who for more than thirty years taught courses in US history, Old South, Civil War, and Georgia history. He holds a PhD from Auburn University and is author of ten books involving Southern history, including Plain Folk in a Rich Man's War, Johnny Reb's War, and Rich Man's War.
